This wedding reception at The Morton Arboretum was something I have been looking forward to ever since I first met Jean and Tim almost a year ago. This is definitely a beautiful venue. Not only are the grounds amazing for photographs, but the reception and dining room is accented by an entire wall of glass that overlooks a beautiful lake and the manicured gardens. It is always a treat when I get to photograph my couples here.
Jean and Tim’s wedding was filled with so much laughter. You might notice in this blog there are a lot of fun, happy pictures, but that’s exactly how the day went. It started out amazing and just went up from there. One of my absolute favorite details of the day was Jean’s dress. It was her Aunt’s from the 80s. Her other Aunt, Sandra Lazar, is a working costume designer and she customized the dress for Jean and Tim’s day. It fit her beautifully and she wore the most dainty white, crystal shoes with them.
The florist, Oc’ie Floral, added Lilly of the Valley to the bouquets for Jean as a surprise because she knew it was one of her favorite flowers. They also included sweat peas. They looked and smelled so dreamy.
Maggie and I started out the day in separate locations for getting ready photos and met at the church later before the ceremony. After the event, the couple exited the church while all their family and loved ones sent them off in a stream of bubbles. We took some traditional family photos in the church and headed to the Arboretum. We started out in the Fragrance garden and ended in the hedges under the flowering trees as the sun was setting.
It was my first wedding of the year. What a great way to start. I am so thankful every day to be able to do what I do. Even after over 10 years of weddings and over 300 events.
Thank you to this couple for choosing Elite Photo to photograph this amazing Morton Arboretum wedding day. Enjoy!
