Katryna and Pete’s wedding was something I have been looking forward to ever since meeting her and her Mom for the first time back in October of 2011. As soon as she told me about the tented reception they were planning at the Torstenson Conservation Education Center, I was super excited. The wedding and reception were held in Pecatonica, IL. This town of a little over 2,000 residents had a real small town charm that made you feel comfortable and happy when you were there. The couple’s July, 2012 wedding day reflected this relaxed feel, and at the same time was so uniquely creative and stylish. Chrystl and I were in awe of all the amazing, thoughtful details throughout the ceremony and reception. From the intricate ribboned belt Katrina wore to the baby’s breath in mason jars wrapped in lace on every table, there was beauty and interest at every corner. We loved the homemade wood place card holders. Katryna and Pete’s mom had hiked through the woods in her backyard to find the wood and Pete’s step dad and brother made the notches in the wood. The couple really made this an event to remember for all their guests, as well. The unique location along with a 3 man band, separate DJ, great food and drink, sparklers and Thai lanterns really made this a day (and night) of celebration and wonderful moments to cherish.
…blue chairs and succulents. Lovely!
There is so much more to show of this wedding. Maybe this winter I will make a Part 2 to this fabulous day.
