Natalie and Matt were married at Heritage Prairie Farm on literally the most perfect day of the whole year. It was a beautiful, light breezy 70 degree day on one of those “feels like the first day of fall” mornings. Although we had talked many times over the phone, because they live in Texas, I had not met them before their wedding. It was so funny, though, as soon as I met Natalie, I was an instant fan. I had gotten there early that day because I wanted to have time to go up to the bridal suite without all my camera equipment, so she would feel comfortable with me. Sometimes, it can make people a little uncomfortable when they first meet you wearing three cameras and two camera bags. Anyhow, right after I introduced myself we hugged and up walks Matt, her groom, with his eyes closed saying “I like to keep things interesting on a wedding day”. They were not to see each other before the wedding, but he wanted to come up and talk, so he just stood there and talked in his Green Bay Packers shirt with his eyes closed. I had my phone, so I snapped a couple of pics and went down to get the rest of my equipment. By the rest I mean something other than my i-phone. The whole day was like that. It was filled with laughs, surprises, and good times.
Natalie and Matt did not want to see one another before the ceremony, so we got creative. They wanted a picture with their pup, Stella, so I positioned them on the stairs and we snapped a stoic pic of them all three together.
They also wanted a picture of them with all their wedding party before the ceremony (but again didn’t want to see one another), so I had them all stand on the corner of the house with the bride on one side and the groom on the other. Natalie could hardly contain her excitement and everyone had to keep her from looking over at Matt. It was so funny and so sweet.
Favorite details of the day included Natalie’s Romona Keveza applique lace gown with an illusion neckline. Also, their adopted Australian Shepherd. Awwwww……..
Thank you to Natalie and Matt for choosing Elite Photo to photograph their day.
