Michael and Kristen were married on one of the prettiest days of the whole summer. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Heritage Prairie Farm in Elburn, Illinois. The two were married under the arbor next to the hanging tire swing while their guests enjoyed the view of rolling farmlands and working vegetable gardens.
The couple are both very accomplished runners which they included as part of their theme throughout the day. I have to mention that Kristen actually went for a 90 minute run the morning of her wedding. This lady is remarkable. The officiate wore his running shoes and their table numbers were tags from some of their races. Kristen wore here mother and grandmother’s jewelry and surprised her groom with a Star Wars themed cake to go along with the amazing cupcakes and ice cream the guests had for dessert. It was kind of a big deal after their first look as Michael removed his yellow Lance Armstrong band he had not taken off for many years (ever). Everyone shed a small tear, although I have a feeling it went right back on at the end of the evening. As it always is at this farm, the fantastic dinner was doted over by all the guests. The night ended with dancing and socializing to the musical stylings of the always happening Dave from Music by Design.
