We are not really sure what you call a pink rose that is almost purple, but we loved them and Shannon and Shawn’s wedding was filled with them. This couple was married on a steaming hot day at the end of July in the middle of the fields of Oswego, Illinois. The venue was the romantically charming Emerson Creek Pottery and Tea Room. A uniquely rustic venue with a swanky chicken coop ,nicknamed the Bridal Coop, is provided for the girls to get ready in. Emerson Creek boasts a rustic farmhouse, tea room, and barn where the couples have the option of an old oak tree or big old pond for their ceremony. Shannon and Shawn chose the pond. Guests were greeted into the ceremony by whitewashed doors hung with vinery wreathes and the aisles reminisced of days gone by with images of the bride and groom as they’ve grown.
The bridesmaids wore shades of violet and lavender (the bride’s favorite color) and the groomsmen wore gray suits with striped ties and a complementing boutonniere. Shannon was stunning in her flowing bridal gown and cathedral length veil. No reason you can’t go big just because you’re getting married on a pond. The lace detail on her bodice was breathtaking. A favorite detail of the day was the three flower girls and their feather gray skirts. They floated around throughout the day like little fairies and the gray was stunning with the purple hues.
Pearls, old pins, mirrors, and lots of eucalyptus filled the all white air conditioned reception hall at dinner for a breathtaking view as the guests entered the room. The centerpiece of the space was a bundt cake from the very popular this year “Ever Bundt Cakes”. Guests finished the evening dancing the night away in the old barn and hanging out under the stars on the large patio complete with fire pits for smores. You can see more of this wedding featured on Let’s Bee Together.
