Ever since I met Stu and Ashley and heard about the unique farm wedding they had planned, I have been looking forward to this wedding day. It was an early fall day and the air was perfectly brisk, but with a bit of warmth still left over from summer. Ashley and Stu were married at 4:30 in the afternoon in a field overlooking a beautiful pond and wild grasses. The decor included handcrafted programs, wooden table numbers, a vintage photo booth, white chandeliers that filled the barn, homemade honey for each guest from Ashley’s family farm, and much more. One of my favorite parts of the day were all the zinnias and dahlias throughout the ceremony, reception, and in the girl’s bouquets. Every flower at the wedding was grown with love in Ashley’s grandmother’s garden. How fantastic is that!! This is a bride after my own heart, as the dahlia is my favorite cut, bouquet, and garden flower of all time and dahlias and zinnias are exactly the flowers that fill both ends of my vegetable garden every summer. My love of dahlias comes from my late Grandpa George. He loved the pon pon dahlia, and it’s become a love of mine to grow more and more of them each season. I may not have room for vegetables one of these years.
My other favorite part of this wedding was the amazing location. Emerson Creek Pottery and Tea Room has a beautiful barn, reception tent, great veranda complete with late night smores, horse stables, fields of corn, wild grasses, a pond, and a fabulous bridal suite that looks a bit like a chicken coop, but when you enter it is all chandeliers and old world benches. Beautiful!! The staff there makes everyone feel like family, too.

Grown With Love in Grandma’s Garden
LauraThe pics really capture the unique “vintage modern” feel of this wedding. This wedding looks rustic yet elegant and I especially love the black and white photos posted. What a special venue….the images capture that this was no cookie-cutter wedding!
