Every wedding is unique in it’s own way and A.J. and Allison’s was no exception. To start with, they had two weddings in one week. They called me about a month before the wedding and said they needed to have a real church ceremony in addition to their beautiful outdoor ceremony they had planned for June 21st. So, on Thursday before their wedding, they were married at St. Barnabas Church in Chicago, IL. There were about 20 in attendance. Two days later, they had another wedding with closer to 250 guests at the fabulous Emerson Creek Events in Oswego, IL.
Even though there was the threat of rain all day, they were able to have their ceremony outside overlooking the pond. They timed it perfectly because about 15 minutes after the ceremony, it rained the hardest and heaviest I’d seen all summer. Luckily it only lasted about a half hour, but the guests enjoyed cocktails and munchies in the beautiful barn and watched the storm pass. AJ and Allison stuck it out for a few photos on the lawn while Monica and I snapped away for fear of getting drenched (which we did, anyhow). Later, we captured some more cool clouds and even got some sunset (after the storm) photos overlooking the beautiful corn fields.

They had this brought in just for the wedding. Allison sang a country music song to A.J. while they were getting some photos done and I just couldn’t help but think what an awesome job I have.Photographer: Elite Photo – Missy and Monica
