Even though I live in Batavia and I do a lot of local weddings, this is the first BATAVIA ONLY wedding I have participated in. We actually stayed in Batavia the entire time. That’s not really remarkable, except it was really fun to just be in Batavia for an entire wedding. Amber and Dave were married at the Calvary Episcopal Church ( I had never been in it before I researched it for this wedding) and had their reception right down the road at Riverview Banquets on the beautiful Fox River.
This was a great weekend! I got to photograph two weddings with two terrific little boys who both walked their Mom’s down the aisle (see Amy and Joel’s post I did before this one). What an honor.
Amber and Dave were from out-of-town. She lives in Ohio and he lives in Alabama while he works on getting his helicopter license through the army. I just love when the groom wears his army dress blues and a lot of the groomsmen did, as well. It was a beautiful day and I really want to thank Dave, Amber, and their friends and family for allowing us to be a part of this terrific occasion. It was wonderful getting to know all of you.
From the Bride about how they got engaged:
I came to Alabama for “family day”, which is where you can have family come watch you fly. He (Dave) is in the Army training to be a helicopter pilot. He got out of his helicopter and walked over to me and asked me in front of everyone.
