Mother’s Day is 2 days away and I want to thank my Mom for teaching me everything I needed to know to make it on my own and ultimately, to become a photographer.

Mom didn’t teach me how to hold the camera, how to focus, and what angle to shoot….. But she gave me all the tools I needed to learn those things and way more. As a wedding and portrait photographer, the number one thing I need is the ability to read people, to interact with people, and to be able to appreciate the beauty in all people. My Mom, I think, taught me that. I could sit here and write a novel the size of Atlas Shrugged about all the things my Mom has done for me, but I obviously am not going to do that. Just know that I COULD(just kidding, I really couldn’t). J

My Mom also taught me to work hard for what you want and you can do anything. This definitely gave me the courage to start my own business (with basically no experience) and to persevere back when there were not a lot of clients.

Mom, when you read this…I hope you know…. I love you……
