When I was invited by Kristen from Kio Kreations to collaborate on this inspirational wedding shoot I was like “Yes, Yes, and Where do I sign up?”.
Every time I head off to a new wedding, there’s always the excitement of seeing the dress, the bouqet, the style and palette, as well as just photographing all those “moments” that happen on a wedding day. It’s a wonderful job, but there is a timeline and we are required to stick to it, of course. The bride and groom need to cut their cake and dance, after all. We can’t just keep them outside on that beautiful bridge at sunset forever (I wish).
That’s why there’s something so fun and frivolous about a styled shoot. It’s all about the creative process of flowers, make-up, table settings, the perfect dress, lip shade, and I get to photograph it all without the timeline and wearing jeans.
This was a dream team of some of the best wedding vendors in the area and we did it all at the very hip and modern Warehouse 109 in Plainfield, Illinois. Located in the warehouse district right next to Werkforce brewery, this location was new to me and couldn’t have been more fun to shoot. It has a floor to ceiling wall of vintage motorcycles as well as vintage cars and even an airstream trailor, which was perfect for some photo booth shots.
Some of my favorite details of the day: Kio Kreations created not one but two botanical necklaces. Eeeekk! Sorry, but these are amazing and I want one. The floral chandelier with pepperberry, the copper wedding invitations, and the cake with it’s edible copper painted layers were all so dreamy.

Laura MolitorMissy-Every time I read your blogs and look through your pictures, I get the chills. Your attention to detail is amazing and pulls me into the excitement and anticipation of the day. Your pictures capture all the little moments of a wedding day that sometimes get overlooked but will be looked back on as some of the more special times of the day.
