Engagement photography in the middle of winter in the midwest can be tricky if you don’t like to be freezing cold. Lisa and Daniel live in Iowa, so they were only available one day when they came home over Christmas and it happened to be about 5 degrees and quite bone-chilling. Luckily, Lisa’s Mom has an in with a park district location and we were able to use a nature building with pretty windows to warm up in between “takes”. We would go outside for about 6-10 minutes at a time and just shoot until Lisa’s nose and cheeks would start to turn color. I can’t help but love shooting in the snow, though, and I can’t help but dream of their beautiful, WARM, upcoming fall wedding at the Fishermen’s Inn in Elburn, Illinois.
I hope they had as much fun working with me as I did with them.
Fun fact…. you may have noticed my last three engagement shoots the girls have each worn maroon. I think it’s the new AWESOME color to wear for a photo shoot.
